How do you get the several lines to be visible at the same time?
The insctructions says you can separate them with the pipe character ( | ).

Im writing like this.
This first sentence, | this is second sentence.

Tried alot of varions, with and without the ().
But I end up getting line2 stacked under line1

the function on line 24 “fileGetDialog” no longer works on newer versions of AE. It should be replace with “File.openDialog”. That should do it.

Thanks for posting this, it looks really useful.

I can’t get it working however. When I run the script on my nicely formatted .txt file, with the layer of text selected and all the markers in place on it, all my dummy text disappears from the preview window and no other text appears.

Does anyone have an idea of how to solve this?

Thanks for posting this.

One question though, did this script support importing text from an .srt file in the past?

I remember when I first looked for something like this. The script took in an .srt file, duplicated the styled text layer in AE and set the in and out points of this text layer based on the time codes in the .srt file.

to use Numpad *
set your marker on the timeline in “start subtitle frame” (its your own particular frame ), then press Numpad * – all this for START your current sub, then repeat previous operetion but now for FINISHING it.

WARNING!!!!

IN CS5 YOU SHOULD REPLACE “fileGetDialog” ON “File.openDialog”
